TitleIvo Carnotensis, Decretum, abbrev.
DescriptionF.1 has 'De speculo Augustini / quod bonus puer' in a 15th-cent. hand, and some illegible words [4s 21d in Hebrew?] in the top outer corner. On f.1v 'Liber sancte Marie Linc", in the usual large early 13th-cent. textura, on a ruled line. Further down is a table of contents in a 15th-cent. anglicana hand which may be that of Peter Partrich (see MS 72). Above this two lines of writing have been erased. Ultra-violet light reveals 'speculum' and 'Aug', so the original text was probably a title or description of the contents. Further down again is 'D. 2. Decretor: Collectio, et Canon: Concil: Nicaen:' in the usual 17th-cent. Lincoln hand.
1. Ivo of Chartres, Decretum, modified. Ff.2-205. ‘(f.2rv table of contents) Quid in prima parte libri huius contineatur. Prima pars continet de fide et sacramento fidei . . . PL 161. 59-1022. The abbreviated text of Ivo is followed (f.159) by an unnumbered section of papal decrees, Sylvester - Nicholas II's Roman synod of 1059, extracted from the Collectio Lanfranci (cf. MS 161). See PUE II. i, p.74. Partes begin on a new page; ff.95v-96v, 122v blank. At the head of f.2 is 'D 2' in Garvey's hand.
2. Additions only slightly later than the main text. Ff.205v-210. F.210v blank. (a) f.205v 'Anno ab incarnatione Domini m.c.lxiii.
